This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Meridian Operations LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with the Who's My Provider website located at whosmyprovider.com, together with its application programming interface and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.
1. Scope
This Policy applies solely to information processed through the Service. It does not apply to any third-party website, product, or service that we do not own or control. The Service is intended for users located in the United States.
2. Information we collect
- Search inputs. The addresses, place names, or geographic coordinates you submit in order to obtain results. As you type, partial input may be transmitted to our mapping provider to generate address suggestions.
- Technical and log data. Our hosting and security provider automatically records standard information such as Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser and device characteristics, referring URLs, requested pages, and date/time stamps, for purposes of operation, security, abuse prevention, and aggregate analytics.
- API usage data. If you use the API, we log request metadata (including the queried address or coordinates and any API credential) to provide, secure, meter, and bill the service.
- Communications. Information you provide if you contact us, such as your email address and the contents of your message.
We do not request or intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and you should not submit any through the Service.
3. How we use information
- to provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service and to perform your lookups;
- to prevent, detect, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues;
- to respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about the Service;
- to administer, meter, and bill API access; and
- to comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. Disclosure of information
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information only as follows:
- Service providers. To vendors and data providers that perform functions on our behalf, including Apple Inc. (interactive maps and address autocomplete), the United States Census Bureau (address geocoding), the Public Utility Commission of Texas and similar governmental mapping services (service-area determination), and Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting, content delivery, and security). Each such party processes information under its own terms and privacy practices.
- Advertising. The Service displays advertising to support its operation, provided by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and review available options at aboutads.info/choices. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by the Google advertising policies.
- Legal and protective disclosures. When we believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
The Service uses only the cookies or local storage necessary for its operation. If analytics or advertising features are enabled, additional cookies may be set. You may control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect certain functionality.
6. Data retention
Search inputs are not associated with any account or identity. Technical and log data are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy and are thereafter deleted or aggregated. Coordinates obtained from our mapping provider are used transiently to fulfill your request and are not retained on a long-term basis.
7. Your choices
- You may use the Service without creating an account.
- You may decline to submit any information you prefer not to share.
- You may manage or clear cookies through your browser.
- Where advertising is enabled, you may use applicable industry opt-out mechanisms.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
9. Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed through the Service. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above indicates the most recent revision, and your continued use of the Service after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
